From September 15th to October 15th, we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month to honor the valuable contributions made by the Hispanic community to the civil rights movement of the 1960s. California Congressman George E. Brown initiated the month-long observance in June 1968, which was later expanded by President George W. Bush in 1988. This month serves as a reminder of the remarkable achievements of people of Hispanic heritage and their significant contributions to the United States.
